Past and Present: Colorado Adventures, AMC's Harriman Outdoor Center, and MORE!

colorado-backpacking-summer

With the end of summer fast approaching, I wanted to take a moment to recap the goings-ons at Krysti Sabins Photography, as well as shine a light on what’s to come!

This summer has seen a more-than-glorious trip to Colorado, which included stops to Rocky Mountain National Park as well as a backpacking journey in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness (seen above). I will admit the landscapes out west really take the cake when it comes to being epic and scenic, all at the same time. That isn’t to say the East Coast is completely lacking in natural beauty…quite the contrary! BUT there’s no comparison when it comes to the undeniable heights and mountainscapes that litter the western United States.

Speaking of mountains, in the coming months I aim to work with the Appalachian Mountain Club and scope out their brand-spankin’ new Outdoor Center in Harriman State Park, NY. With cabins, shelters, tent platforms, a dining hall, and waterfront access to Breakneck Pond, I cannot wait to give it a go!

In addition to this exciting prospect, further north I plan to collaborate with Upstate Adventure Guides and tag along on one of their excellent guided trips! Though plans are still in the works, we hope to have something set up that no doubt features the more-than-picturesque backdrops of the Catskill Mountains and its many cloves and ridgelines.

So while the summer is winding down, my season seems to just be warming up! Stay tuned for updates on these projects as well as useful photo tips once we hit September…that wonderful late-summer-into-fall light is calling my name!

p.s. Also keep an eye out for my recent landscape architecture photography to be published on Wyckoff-based Horizon Landscape Company’s website…eager to see how the photos make their projects stand out!
